This chemical is used in many applications viz: manufacture of unsaturated polyester resins (UPR), production of thermoplastic polyurethanes, elastane/Spandex fibers, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resins and many other products.
Food Industry: This malic acid which is a derivative of maleic anhydride, widely used as artificial sweeteners and flavour enhancements in food industry. Hair sprays, adhesives and floor polishes etc contain maleic anhydride. Personal care products also have a content of this chemical. This plays vital role in precursor to compounds used for water treatment detergents, insecticides and fungicides, pharmaceuticals, and other copolymers.
Packing and Transport: Liquid part of this chemical is used in road tankers/containers to maintain the temperature of 65-75 °C. There are many other in transportation.
